A standard Sailwave expression that allows you to define how to calculate race points. The smaller the number of points, the better the result and visa versa for high point expressions.
The following variables can be used:-
The place of the boat in the race being scored – p.
The recorded position of the boat – q.
The number of boats that came to the start area in the race being scored – r.
The maximum value of r across all races in the series – m.
The number of boats that started the race being scored – s.
The number of boats that finished the race being scored – f.
The number of competitors in the series – c.
The number of boats in the biggest start in any one race – x.
The number of boats in the biggest start in the race being scored – y.
Many scoring systems require a value for the number of boats that you beat in a race. Sailwave does not provide a specific variable for this because it depends on the definition in your SIs. For example it could mean the number of boats you beat that came to the starting area or the number of boats you beat including those that did not sail. Use the other variables to get the value you require. For example the number of boats you beat that started is:-
