Changes

Version 2.24.0 is a relatively small but  important update on 2.23.4

Changes since the previous release (2.23.4) includes the following:-

  • Support for Percentage penalty to be added based on DNF score (as well as the previous method based on number of boats in the series)  This was changed in RRS 2017-2020.
If you are using SCP and or ZFP in your results you should change the scoring codes to use the  new DNF based calculations if you are scoring to RRS2017-2020.  In most calculations it doesn’t make any difference but there are some where it makes 1 point difference due to the rounding.
  • Support for PRP (Post Race Penalty – Arbitration) as used by Techno293 Fleet
“The race score for a board that takes a Post-Race Penalty shall be the score she would have
received without that penalty made worse by 30% of the score for DNF, rounded to the nearest
whole number (0.5 rounded upwards), but not more than half of the difference between the
board’s score before applying the penalty and the score for DNF.”
  • Updated the plug-in interface to World Sailing for reporting results directly to World Sailing (ISAF)
  • Corrected Black flag  rule to reference 30.4 instead of 30.3

  1. Hello,

You refer to the alternative download for USB application, but the download link does not appear on this page.

  2. Jon,
Interesting, When you select the Read More link on the original email you get a page that only displays the news about the latest release, it shows nothing else.

Well on my Chrome browser anyway…..

  3. Hi Victoria – do you really mean Malware or just unwanted apps. You do have to be careful when downloading all free software these days not to click on adverts which can be very easily disguised to mislead you. You are very lucky with Sailwave as we decided to not to allow these types of adverts on Sailwave but it means we don’t get any revenue from the adverts.

  4. Hi Veronique – To run Sailwave on a Mac there are several options available to you. You can use Bootcamp, Parallels or Crossover which have a cost if you don’t already have one of them. Crossover has a free trial and costs currently £38 to purchase. This allows you to run other windows apps not just Sailwave. Crossover and Winebottler use the Wine structure. If you are proficient enough you could use Wine on its own but for the effort I would use one of the already developed solutions. I personally don’t think there is a problem with Winebottler if you are careful to download the correct parts. The choice is yours
    Jon
